Make a list

Few weeks back I decided that I wanted to make stuffed shells. I decided that I wanted to try bacon stuffed shells for a change. I've never tried it before but I figure bacon is good, everyone loves bacon, why not give it a try. Let me just say that deciding to give bacon stuffed shells a try was one of the best decisions ever.

I've made stuffed shells plenty of times so what I need and how to do it is all in my head by now. I had decided that I could go shopping without making a list of what I needed. Well actually I had went shopping but didn't decide to shop for the shells until I was at the store already. I figured I could save myself from making another trip. Yeah that did not work out so well. I got home from the store and determined that I had forgot the cheese. How can I have stuffed shells without cheese? Ugh so I would have to make a trip to the store for that.

Two days later I went back to the store to do some more shopping and I got the cheese that I needed along with some other stuff. Figured I was all done. Friday night rolls around (same day) and I am sitting here at my computer thinking about a few things and then it dawns on me. I normally make the stuffed shells in disposable pans cause it is just easier to clean up and you can store them in the fridge as is. Well I never picked up the pans. Son of a bitch. Another trip to the store coming up.

Saturday morning I had to go to the store again. A friend of mine told me that I should make a list. I was like but I am only going for one item this time and she insisted I make a list. So on my third trip to the grocery store for my stuffed shells I made a list. It took three trips to the store to get all the stuff I needed for my shells. Had I made a list in the first place maybe I would of gotten all my items the first time around. I guess the moral of the story is to make a list.

Stuffed shells turned out good. The bacon ones are now my favorite. They were pretty awesome. I still have a full pan of shells sitting in the freezer in the basement cause as usual I made way too much for just two people. I am saving that for a rainy day. I have so many people wanting to try out my shells. Maybe people need to live closer to me.

Milk splat

March is off to an interesting start. Excuse me while I sit here and laugh about what just happened to me. While I was angry at first, now I just find the humor in it. If I didn't find the humor in most situations I think my life would totally suck. I suppose I needed a good laugh about something.

So today I went grocery shopping for my father. I think typically I go once a week or whatever. Everything was going fine other then it still being pretty cold and annoying outside with the weather. Oh yeah and I flipped the bird at some dude while on my way to the store. I am doing 35 in a 25 and dude is right on my ass. So I let him know that I was not happy bout that. Anyways it went fine until I got home. I had a lot of bags to unpack from the car and it was cold so I was in a little bit of a rush. Normally they don't put milk in a bag for me but this time they did. Of course I am not paying attention and what happens? I miss the table with the bag of milk and the milk goes splat all over the kitchen. It wasn't just a small contained spill, it was like a lake of milk covering up a lot of the kitchen floor. Son of a bitch! Thank god for the water vac that we have. If there is a plus side to all of this it would be that the floor is now cleaner.

My nephew was in a major car accident yesterday involving my father's van. He had to go drive to Michigan for some stuff for school and my father let him use his van. In Indiana he hit a patch of black ice and slid into a woman who was stalled out due to the ice on the highway. Thankfully my nephew is ok. The van is not ok. It is totaled. I guess if there is any upside to all of this is that my father, who has been wanting to get a new van anyways, can now think about getting a new van. Hey this is how we handle things in this family, with jokes!

Weather still sucks here. We are suppose to be up to 37 on Friday though. Oh yeah! Too many days below zero this winter. Snow I can handle but it is has been pretty cold and miserable here. No wonder why I am grumpy and going stir crazy. I can't wait to be able to wake up in the mornings and go for walks and enjoy sitting outside with the fire pit going.

Going to another concert. Fall Out Boy on July 5th, the day after the Motley Crue show. I was never a huge fan of the band, in fact I think I avoided listening to them cause I just didn't like the name. They have grown on me in the past year though and I like quite a bit of their songs. So it should be a good show. We also have good seats too. Yay!

Thats all for now. I'm sure I will be back soon. I have like 11 blog titles/ideas sitting in front of me in this notebook. Now to just get into writing mode more often!
